Day 01 Apr, 18 - Sunday

DEPARTURE

Board your overnight transatlantic flight to Thessaloniki Greece with a connection in Munich.

Day 02 Apr, 19 - Monday

ARRIVE THESSALONIKI

Welcome to Greece, the capital of democracy, ancient civilization and art. As well, it was in Greece that some of the most important words in the New Testament were directed. This city, named after Alexander the Great’s sister, was the center of Paul’s activities in Northern Greece. He preached here and found a church, to whom he wrote two epistles (Acts 17:1-9 – 1 and 2 Thessalonians). Following an orientation tour of the city, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel with your traveling companions.

Day 03 Apr, 20 - Tuesday

THESSALONIKI / PHILIPPI / KAVALA

Experience a full-day excursion along the ancient route of the Apostle Paul To Amphipolis (Acts 17). This journey takes you to ancient Philippi, named after the father of Alexander the Great. This busy Roman colony boasted of a great library and theater. In Philippi, Paul preached, established the first church in Europe, and as a prisoner in Rome, he wrote one of his epistles (Acts 16:11-15). Next you continue to Kavala, ancient port of Neapolis Acts 16:9-11). You will return to your hotel in Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight.

Day 04 Apr, 21 - Wednesday

VERIA AND KALAMBAKA

Today you visit Veria (“Beroea” in the New Testament). Here friends sent Paul and Silas after being accused of treason in Thessaloniki (Acts 17:5-15). Visit the “Bema of the Apostle Paul,” where the Apostle is said to have stood and preached the gospel to the local community. We continue to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight.

Day 05 Apr, 22 - Thursday

METEORA AND ATHENS

In Meteora, see the amazing “Hanging Monasteries”. We will see the striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks, that seem to be suspended in mid-air, stand ageless monasteries where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. There are 24 monasteries while 6 only are inhabited. We will visit one of them before continuing the journey to Athens to your hotel and for dinner.

Day 06 Apr, 23 - Friday

EMBARK CRUISE / MYKONOS

After breakfast we will depart the hotel and transfer to the Lavrion port to embark our 3 night Greek Island cruise. Our first stop will be at the famous island of Mykonos. A shuttle bus will take us to the capital to enjoy walking in the narrow roads full of shops and restaurants. Enjoy your accommodations aboard ship for the next three nights.

Day 07 Apr, 24 - Monday

KUSADASI, TURKEY & PATMOS

Early this morning, we explore Ephesus, dominated by the great 24,000-seat amphitheater, cited in Acts as the place of the apostles’ courageous witness. What a privilege to walk these ancient streets in the footsteps of New Testament writers Paul and John! Excavations at Ephesus are ongoing…each season more can be seen of the city where Paul invested two years of his ministry. Archaeologists still digging at the site have reconstructed much of it, including the beautiful two-story Library of Celsus, The Temple of Hadrian, and the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the temple once had 129 columns and was the size of a football field). Our second stop today is at Patmos where the exiled St John received the Revelation which forms the last book of the New Testament. Included is an excursion to the Monastery which is of the 11th Century and to the Grotto of Revelation.

Day 08 Apr, 25 - Sunday

HERAKLION & SANTORINI

This morning, we dock in Heraklion, the capital of Crete. where Paul arrived as a prisoner on his way to Rome and the final chapter of his life. Paul revisited the island of Crete before his death, placing Titus in charge of the church he founded. After a short drive through the town of Heraklion the walking tour will take us to visit the church of St Titus , a disciple of the Apostle Paul and the first Bishop of Crete. At the Archaeological Museum we’ll see displays of many of the treasures found during the excavation of this ancient city. We later sail to the famous volcanic island of Santorini. Here, for additional charge, you may take part in the tour to Oia village, perched high on top of a cliff, to watch a Santorini sunset which some consider the most beautiful anywhere on the planet! OR to take cable car to reach the capital of the island, Fira, and see its unique beauty. We return to the ship for dinner before sailing back to Athens.

Day 09 Apr, 26 - Monday

DISEMBARKATION / CORINTH / ATHENS

We arrive in Athens port early this morning, disembark and drive along the coastal road to Corinth where Paul had met Aquila (“There he met a Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, and recently come from Italy... “ Acts 18:2). Continue along the wonderful beach of Kinetta, make a brief stop at the amazing Corinthian Canal, then on to ancient Corinth to visit the Museum, the Bema where “Paul gave his whole time to preaching the message...” (Acts 18:5). Next we visit Cenchreae, mentioned twice in the New Testament, in Acts 18:18 and Romans 16:1. After his stay at Corinth, Paul sailed for Syria from Cenchreae. Return to Athens for dinner and the next two overnights.

Day 10 Apr, 27 - Tuesday

ATHENS

This morning we start our tour by visiting the important modern and archaeological sites in the city of Athens, the Acropolis and neighboring monuments, including Mars Hill where “So they took Paul and brought him in front of the city council, the Areopagus…”(Act 17:19). While driving through the main streets of Athens, we have an opportunity to see other places of interest such as the University, the Academy, the National Library, the Temple of Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium, Omonia Square, Constitution Square and the Royal Palace. We will see the Roman Cathedral of St Dennis dedicated to Dionysius. “Some men joined him and believed, among whom was Dionysius...” (Act 17:34). The day will conclude with a magnificent meal in the roof garden overlooking the stunning Acropolis, celebrating our time together in this glorious country.

Day 11 Apr, 28 - Wednesday

RETURN TO THE USA AND HOME

Your homebound flight arrives in the USA the same day.
