Day by Day Travel Itinerary
  • Day 01 Sun . Apr . 28
    DEPARTURE
Board your overnight transatlantic flight to Thessaloniki, Greece with a connection in Munich.
  • Day 02 Mon . Apr . 29
    Arrive in Thessaloniki
Welcome to Greece, the capital of democracy, ancient civilization and art.  As well, it was in Greece that some of the most important words in the New Testament were directed. This city, named after Alexander the Great’s sister, was the center of Paul’s activities in Northern Greece.  He preached here and founded a church, to whom he wrote two epistles (Acts 17:1-9 – 1 and 2 Thessalonians).  Following an orientation tour of the city, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel with your traveling companions. (D)
  • Day 03 Tue . Apr . 30
    Thessaloniki, Philippi, Kavala
Experience a full-day excursion along the ancient route of the Apostle Paul to Amphipolis (Acts 17). This journey takes you to ancient Philippi, named after the father of Alexander the Great.  This busy Roman colony boasted of a great library and theater. In Philippi, Paul preached, established the first church in Europe, and as a prisoner in Rome, Paul wrote one of his epistles (Acts 16:11-15, Philippians).  Next you continue to Kavala, ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:9-11).  You will return to your hotel in Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
  • Day 04 Wed . May . 01
    Veria and Kalambaka
Today you visit Veria (“Beroea,” in the New Testament).  Here friends sent Paul and Silas after being accused of treason in Thessaloniki (Acts 17:5-15).  Visit the “Bema of the Apostle Paul,” where the Apostle is said to have stood and preached the gospel to the local community.  We continue to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
  • Day 05 Thu . May . 02
    Meteora and Athens
In Meteora, you will visit Varlaam and St. Stephen’s Monasteries.  These 14th century  monasteries compose one of the most breathtaking sites in the world. You will view many historical and religious treasures. Your journey to Athens continues as we move southward to your hotel and for dinner. (B,D)
  • Day 06 Fri . May . 03
    The Cruise Begins -- Mykonos
Today, we go to the port of Piraeus to begin our 3-night Greece and Turkey cruise, with a visit to the mountainous island of Mykonos.  You will have free time to explore the island before returning to the ship. Enjoy your accommodations aboard ship for the next three nights. (B,L,D)
  • Day 07 Sat . May . 04
The Cruise – Kusadasi, Turkey & Patmos, Greece
Crossing the Aegean, you will visit the Turkish port of Kusadasi. You will visit the amazing  ruins  of Ephesus, whose inhabitants were the recipients of the Apostle Paul’s famous epistle (Acts 18:19-26).  Ephesus was once the capital of the Roman province of Asia.  You will also visit the House of Mary, where the mother of Jesus is said to have spent her last days.  Back on the ship, we will sail to Patmos, called by some the “Jerusalem of the Aegean.” You will visit the Monastery of St. John and the Cave of the Apocalypse, where John the Evangelist wrote the Book of Revelation during his exile (Rev 1:9-11). (B,L,D)
  • Day 08 Sun . May . 05
The Cruise – Heraklion & Santorini
You will visit Heraklion on Crete, including an excursion to Knossos, the center of the 3000 BC Minoan civilization. We then board our ship for our next port of call at Santorini, the “Black Pearl of the Aegean.” In Santorini, you may wish to visit the cliff-top village of Thera to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. (B,L,D)
  • Day 09 Mon . May . 06
Piraeus, Greece (Disembarkation) – Corinth, Athens
Disembark and continue to Corinth for a visit of Ancient Corinth.  We will visit the site where Apostle Paul worked for 18 months with tent makers Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:1-18). Among the ruins will be the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Agora, the Bema where St. Paul had to plead his case before the Roman governor Gallio in 52 AD, the pavement inscription of Erastus, the Roman Lechaion Road, and the Fountain of Peirene, the major source of water for Corinth (B,D)
  • Day 10 Tue . May . 07
    Athens
Return to Athens and enjoy sightseeing by your competent guide. You will have a panoramic tour to see the Parliament House, Omonia Square and Panathenaic Stadium. Then you will visit the Acropolis with the Parthenon and the Areopagus, where Paul delivered his famous sermon about the identity of “the unknown God” (Acts 17:15-34). The day will conclude with a magnificent meal in the roof garden overlooking the stunning Acropolis, celebrating our time together in this glorious country. (B,D)
