  • DAY 03 Fri . Jun . 11
We start our day by cruising the Sea of Galilee in a wooden boat modeled after one from Jesus’ time.  We visit the Church of the Multiplication where Christians have long-remembered the first feeding of the multitude, and nearby, the Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter believed to be on the site of Jesus’ post-resurrection breakfast with his disciples and the reinstatement of Peter (John 21).  We drive to the Mount of the Beatitudes and then down to Capernaum, where archaeologists believe they have uncovered the house of Peter, as well as a synagogue who’s foundation stones are first-century.  After a Saint Peter’s Fish lunch we take a short hike on a path almost certainly used by Jesus and his disciples to travel from the villages along the Sea of Galilee to villages including Nazareth and Cana to the south west.  After our hike we travel to the place were the Jordan River exits south from the Sea of Galilee.  We will have a special baptismal service at the Jordan River for all who would like to participate.  Overnight at our hotel in Tiberias. Zion to the grounds of a church called St. Peter in Gallicantu.  Here, the Assumptionist Fathers propose, was the house where the High Priest Caiaphas interrogated Jesus.  We view the ancient steps that likely were used by Jesus as he left the city heading toward the Kidron Valley.  We visit a site built at what is thought to be the location of the Upper Room.  We then drive to the Israel Museum which includes an outdoor model of Jerusalem as the city may have looked in 66 AD.  Then it is back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.  (Breakfast and Dinner included today.)
  • DAY 8 Wed . Jun . 16
