January is one of the best kept secrets in the travel industry. Because of holiday travel chaos, most people overlook January as a time to get away. This time when less people are traveling results in discounts to popular destinations.
During the Holiday season, the chance of having that white sandy beach or fresh snow powder trail all to yourself is very unlikely. However, during the month of January, that is a different story. Taking advantage of these deals is a good idea if possible. School breaks and job responsibilities can make this a challenging time to get away. Finding the time could result in the dream getaway of a lifetime.
January may be the best time of year to take a vacation, as passenger traffic drops and resorts, airlines and cruise companies all roll out deals. Yet the start of the year is often overlooked when it comes to vacation planning: families return to school schedules and New Year’s reveling is traded for resolutions of eating in, working out and spending less. And it’s no wonder. People are tired, or broke, or dreading the thought of getting on another plane.
