One of the most popular cruise destinations in the world is “The Last Frontier” of Alaska and 2009 is shaping up to be a great year for Alaskan cruise lines. As some of the most beautiful parts of Alaska can only be viewed by sea, we've compiled a short list of cruise options to help you plan your next trip to the majestic north.
Carnival Alaska Cruises
The Carnival Spirit will traverse the Gulf of Alaska on seven-day trips between Vancouver to Seward and on seven-day trip Glacier Bay cruises. Ports of call include Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway.
Princess Alaska Cruises
Princess will have whopping eight ships sailing in the Alaskan waters this summer: Pacific Princess, The Coral Princess, Island Princess, Sea Princess, Golden Princess, Diamond Princess, Star Princess, and Sapphire Princess.
The Dawn Princess will set off on 10-day cruises of the Inside Passage departing from San Francisco. The Diamond, Island, Sapphire, and Coral Princess will be sailing between Vancouver and Whittier. The Golden Princess and Star Princess will depart from Seattle and sail the Inside Passage. The Pacific Princess will have a longer 14-day route, while the Sea Princess will sail twice roundtrip originating in San Francisco.

Royal Caribbean will have three ships in Alaska this year; Radiance of the Seas will take seven-night voyages between Vancouver and Seward. Serenade of the Seas will sail a seven-night roundtrip journey from Vancouver. Rhapsody of the Seas will depart from Seattle on seven-night roundtrip Sawyer Glacier excursions.
