US Domestic Airfares Rose 6.2% On Year In Third Quarter–DOT
Data released by the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics show a rise in domestic airfares to match a continued increase in demand, reaching an average of 1 in the third quarter of 2011. This figure marks a 6.2% increase, up from 0, from 2010 results, although it flagged compared with the 0 average reached during the second quarter of last year. The higher airfare has generated positive results for airline profits.
